TABIN WILDLIFE RESERVE
Located in the dense rainforests of eastern Sabah, Tabin Wildlife Reserve spans 122,500 hectares of predominantly lowland dipterocarp forests, offering a sanctuary for Sabah’s largest mammals including the Borneo Pygmy Elephant, Orang Utan, and Banteng. Off-season, we almost had Tabin to ourselves. The staff were amazing and provided us with excellent meals. The wildlife, including gibbons, macaques, and rhino hornbills, were easily seen in the trees surrounding the restaurant. Our guide, Maui, ensured we got the most out of our excursions into the forest. An excellent experience. Thank you.

Tabin Wildlife Resort is worth a visit. We had the 3-day, 2-night package and were super happy with our experience. The guides were knowledgeable, and the accommodation was airy and comfortable. The rest of the facilities were also excellent.

Amazing Mud Volcano! A short 700-meter jungle trail leads to this incredible site. At the edge of the site, there is an 18-meter high watchtower that provides an excellent view over the entire mud pool. Watching animals visit the area from this vantage point is truly remarkable. Playing with the mud is a unique experience.

I stayed at Tabin Wildlife Reserve for 4 days and 3 nights in a river lodge. The room was comfortable and had a great view of the forest and river. The lodge was very peaceful, making it easy to relax between outings into the jungle. The itinerary had a good mix of walking and vehicle-based activities. Our guide, Oliver, was amazing—full of knowledge about the wildlife and environment and always whistling bird calls.
