Start the day with an early morning bird walk to see some of the 300 bird species in Tabin.

Some bird species you might see at Tabin: Blue-headed Pitta, Black-and-crimson Pitta, Temminck’s Sunbird, Everett’s White-eye, Malaysian Blue Flycatcher, Purple-throated Sunbird, Yellow-rumped Flowerpecker, and all eight species of Sabah Hornbills.

Before departing from Lahad Datu, you may ask your driver to bring you to a local shop to buy "adidas kampung" (rubber trekking shoes) – the recommended shoes for trekking through Borneo tropical rainforest. Leech socks may be purchased at the resort shop.
- Ensure you have a confirmed air ticket to Lahad Datu before your trip.
- Standard check-in is at 1400 Hrs and check-out at 1200 Hrs for most hotels and resorts, but times can vary. Please verify the specific check-in and check-out times with us for your accommodation.
- From 1st September 2017, the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture has implemented a Tourism Tax (TTX). Foreign tourists must pay a fixed rate of MYR 10 per room per night, payable at check-in, regardless of accommodation star level. Malaysian nationals and permanent residents are exempt from this tax and must show valid identification at check-in to qualify for exemption.
